Week 6: Mixed Feelings

¡Hola mis amigos y mi familia!
Week six in Hamilton was pretty chill.
Classes:
As the semester nears the midway point, we're finally getting bigger assignments. In a philosophy paper I had to argue whether or not God existed. Not my favorite topic to write about and I'm not confident about the grade I'll receive even after attending a workshop for extra help and collaborating with others...
Maori is also kicking my ass (pardon my French.) I went to tutorials for help and still was terrified for the listening test we had on Monday. I'm 99% sure I bombed it, so hopefully they grade on a curve here! (But seriously, who has a LISTENING TEST as their first exam for an intro level class?!)
In my PR class we had the local Hamilton East political candidates – David Bennett, MP, from the National Party, Jamie Strange from the Labour Party, and Sam Taylor from the Green Party – debate. We then had to draft tweets and write a press release. It was fun!
After class I talked to my PR prof Margalit (the Israeli one who went to BU) and we talked about the difference between politics here and in the States. She said it was nice having me in class so woo woo go me! :P
Overall, I much prefer America's education system; it's a lot more organized and I prefer the structure of having more assignments rather than just a few that count for a big portion of your grade. I'm going to appreciate ASU so much more when I go back!
Misc:
Justice and I are making a habit out of pasta and HGTV Tuesdays in Lounge 2. We are lame old ladies!
Capsicum = bell pepper. They also put BBQ sauce on evvvvverything! Sorry if I've mentioned that before.
My gym membership ended and I'll wait til after the week-long break coming up to renew it, if I decide to.
The ball was fun(ish) it was nice to dress up and take pictures and hang out! They had a room with a DJ and a room with live music and food and a professional photographer (who said the photos will be uploaded in three weeks, boo!)
Missing Home:
Not sure if it's because everyone is starting to head back to ASU for the fall semester or I've been away from my bebes for so long (normally would be with them in the summer), but I definitely have been missing home this week. I tried to chase down a feral parking lot cat to steal and take back to my dorm but it out-ran me :((
Next Up: Currently planning my mid-semester break with Justice and Chenay and then Australia after the semester ends with Chenay!
